nice to meet you

I've been writing since I could hold a pencil. First short stories, then diary entries, and eventually news. I’m now thrilled to be the senior writer and editor at Modern Farmer, as well as a freelance reporter and fact-checker for dozens of other publications. Previously, I’ve worked at The Walrus, CTV, CBC, and Global News.

You can find my writing in print and online publications across the world like Maclean’s, Elle, The Globe and Mail, Chatelaine, Vice, Flare, University Affairs, and many more. I like to write about things that make me happy, things that make me question something I thought I knew, and things that make me hungry. If I can combine those, even better.

I’ve won two Silver awards from the Atlantic Journalism Awards, one for Best Arts Reporting in 2016, and another for Best Magazine Article in 2020.

I was nominated for a 2020 Digital Publishing Award in the category of Best Personal Essay, and a 2021 National Magazine Award in the category of Best Feature Article.
